Breath Meditation
Meditation for most Westerners has been an elusive partner. Try as many do, the chatterbox (monkey mind, inner dialogue) seems to control even the highest intentioned
"sit". The purpose of the "sit" is to shut out the world to create a place of quiet within; to commune with the Higher Self.
Many of us in the West haven’t had the training in any form of yoga or
meditation. Because it has not been a part of our upbringing or culture, we lack the discipline to quiet our mind. As a result we tend to live in constant noise (inside and out of our heads) which creates perpetual sensory
overload - emotionally, mentally and physically. This disallows clarity and ease of being in our creative and spiritual process. It also drives us forward into the future or buries us in the past.
Introducing a conscious
breath into meditation helps us be/stay present. It centers us and supports us in relaxing our physiology. We are able to reach calm. We are able to let go. When we create this experience time ceases to be. Everything
