"The human experience has been a fear-based series of events and
lifetimes. Everyone ends up dying. When we do not know who we
are, that is very frightening and we have all forgotten. Some
have called it collective unconsciousness or created amnesia.
That's why the leaders can hold up the mirror of terror and generate
the fear they desire. It's easy--except among those who are starting
to remember, a number that is increasing exponentially, by the
way.
What is it that WE are remembering? As we peer more deeply into
our own fear of mortality, images fade in and out of view. These
recollected images reveal something beyond the fear, or perhaps
even hidden deep within it. They are images of immortality, images
indicating that we are more than mere finite beings having a human
experience. We are Spirit. However, unless you are able to sense
those images in some manner and accept that they are revealing
deeper reality, you won't get it. You're stuck in the surface
layers, which offer little hope.
That hope comes in the deeper layers, which everyone who is willing
can access. In fact, Life keeps on presenting us with mirrors
until we become willing. That's called Love, believe it or not.
Life Loves life! That's its job. It loves us so much that it never
quits; it never gives up on us. We are all Children of Life whose
destiny is to rediscover that we are all Masters of Love, too."

and Quality.
Another pair of anti-thesis, not considered by science, are Gravitation
and Levitation. Levitation is not taken into account at all, consideration
being given only to gravitation, although a levitational force
is basic to nature. Viktor Schauberger once commented wryly that
instead of asking himself what caused the apple to fall to the
ground, Sir Isaac Newton should have asked how it got up there
in the first place! What else if not levitation enables a tree
to grow upwards against the action of gravity? Were there no levity,
the tree would just spread out horizontally over the ground in
a green amorphous mass. It does thrust skywards, however, and
does so in response to another force operating in the opposite
direction.
This is life-force, the quickening and uplifting energy; the force
responsible for up rightness and right-side-upness of things.
It is the rising power that imbues all healthy living things,
particularly the more youthful, with a feeling of lightness, of
relative weightlessness, removing all sensation of ponderousness
of the limbs. With increasing age it gradually weakens, making
the more elderly conscious of the weight of their bodies and the
greater difficulty of movement. When this levitational force is
extinguished, so too is the life force of the body, which then
dies.
When we consider these interdependencies and the illustrations
of spiral forms in nature, we can see that the dynamics of the
universe are therefore caused by an inherent imbalance, since
movement is always occurring somewhere between one extreme and
the other. There can be no state of stable equilibrium, which
would signify immobility, uniformity and stasis. Were such the
case, neither development, nor evolution would be possible and
the whole condition of the universe would be unchanging and unproductive,
which is manifestly NOT the case.
Of all the hindrances to Magickal action, the very greatest and
most fatal is unbelief, for it checks and stops the action of
the Will.

BREAKING THE DEATH HABIT
Breaking the Death Habit an essay and review of Leonard Orrs
book by Sara Dawn
learn-to-breath-energy.com
It is important to note that this book was the Number One best
selling book in Russian New Age bookstores a few years ago.
In Breaking the Death Habit: The Science of Everlasting Life ,
Leonard Orr presents some revolutionary yet practical ideas about
death. While his ideas may seem new and beyond all tradition,
they are actually steeped in old-age historical Truths which can
be found in the roots and 'myths' of every known religion. Breaking
the Death Habit is a fascinating study of the human mind and its
unlimited relationship with the Divine. It presents the information
that death is not inevitable or ordained by some mystery beyond
our personal creative power.
Leonard begins with the presentation of the Unconscious Death
Urge, a term which Sigmund Freud first discovered and explored
in his essay; Beyond the Pleasure Principle. The Unconscious Death
Urge consists of any anti-life thoughts, "beliefs and ideas about
death that you absorbed from your parents and culture." (p9) Leonard
describes it as a psychic entity; a collection of beliefs and
ideas in the subjective mind, set into motion and endowed with
your own creative power. He goes on to explain that the death
urge is "the most destructive of human emotions, responsible for
self-sabotaging and suicidal behavior, the stronghold for all
depressions, sickness, feelings of helplessness and failure."
(p9-10) He asserts that we are responsible for the outcome and
condition of our physical bodies "that nothing can harm us without
our consent."
Leonard explains that it is actually quite difficult to destroy
our physical body, as most illnesses progress slowly, giving us
plenty of time to change our habits and beliefs. He also explains
that we naturally have a life urge, which will warn us time and
time again before 'accidents' even occur, if we are present enough
to listen. Breaking the death habit may be easier than we think.
I realize that to some, these ideas may seem threatening, but
that can only be true if one believes their only way out of this
universe is through death. Breaking the Death Habit presents a
strong factual case that death is not the only way people have
left this plane, or left and come back! Leonard refers to these
people as Immortal Yogis and shares many of his personal experiences
with these people.
"Whether or not you gain immortality, there is tremendous power
in simply questioning the inevitability of death...You may or
may not believe in the radical act (Leonard) is teaching, but
if you entertain it, you will change in unimaginable ways...Physical
immortality is living as long as you want, and wanting to live
as long as you do....If you really want to meet your maker, go
for full aliveness so you can ascend there!"~Bob Frissell, Preface
to Breaking the Death Habit. Leonard breaks down the Transcendence
of death into three basic steps of development:
1) Philosophy of Physical Immortality; understanding the core
concepts, ideas, and practical sense of Physical Immortality.
In other words, understanding and knowing the Spirit of Physical
Immortality.
2) Psychology of Physical Immortality; studying your own mental
concepts and behaviors, unraveling your personal death urge absorbed
from your family tradition, understanding the psychosomatic science
of how your beliefs influence your health and life experience.
In other words, the Mind of Physical Immortality.
3) Physiology of Physical Immortality; embodying Physical Immortality
through developing an inner awareness of our energy body, freeing
the breath and healing our breathing mechanism, healing personal
diseases passed on by family tradition, and mastering the body.
This step is the 'Body' of Physical Immortality.
Let's look at each of these a little more closely.
The Philosophy of Physical Immortality
Many people understand the intellectual idea of something, but
Leonard points out the difference between "intellectual knowledge
and knowledge that creates our physical reality; the theoretical
and the causative." (p7) He explains that intellectual knowledge
is transformed into real knowledge through repetition and deep
contemplation. Its not just a thought; its an idea that has
been cultivated to have deep meaning, relevancy, feeling, and
conviction within it. (According to Michael Beckwith, in his appearance
in the movie, The Secret, science has proven that conscious, affirmative
thought is hundreds of times more powerful than unconscious thought.)
Leonard also goes on to explain, "You haven't learned anything
for which you don't have instant recall." (p7) The point he is
making here, is that we must come to know the core concept and
idea of Physical Immortality like we know our own name. Breaking
the death habit needs to become a habitual part of our life and
thoughts throughout our everyday life.
Some actions to take to begin developing a Philosophy of Physical
Immortality might be to simply meditate on these words and study
the teachings and stories of Immortal Yogis. Breaking the death
habit is a worthy idea to meditate on.
"The belief that death is inevitable will kill you if nothing
else does. But the truth is that your spirit is already eternal;
you have only to move your mind and body into harmony with your
eternal spirit. The philosophy of Physical Immortality gives your
body a chance. Deathist mentality guarantees its destruction."
(p8)
The Psychology of Physical Immortality
Unraveling your personal death urge is a fascinating and completely
life-enhancing, thrilling process to partake in. Breaking the
death habit is fun! Once you start, you can never become bored
again. Leonard says, "The difference between one person and another
is primarily in the quality of ideas they think about.?"(p8) Since
the unconscious death urge is the root of all depression, disease,
and suffering, we obviously have many opportunities to uncover
anti-life thoughts and heal them through changing our habits,
beliefs and right thinking!
Leonard has pointed out, that since psychosomatic science has
proven that our thoughts and beliefs, our personal knowings, influence
our physical health, then the idea that death is inevitable is
obviously damaging to the body. Even if we don't achieve Physical
Immortality, believing that death is not inevitable can greatly
enhance our lives. Leonard says, "Don't forget that Physical Immortality
(in and of itself,) is not the ultimate goal. Living longer is
not the goal. Increasing the quality of one's life is the goal;
the present-time quality of personal existence in Spirit, Mind,
and Body. Physical Immortality releases us from the prison of
living under the sentence of death. Most people are living on
'death row' and wonder why their life doesn't work. Finding eternal
life in the human heart is the source of health in the mind and
body."
The Physiology of Physical Immortality
Leonard explains that simply having ideas about Physical Immortality
is complete nonsense without having a personal practice that will
produce body mastery and happiness. The personal practice he presents
here is cultivating an inner awareness of the energy body, and
the ability to 'keep it clean.' This is done through simple practices
he learned by observing the lifestyle of Immortal Yogis, involving
earth, air, water, and fire. These are the elements of God, the
building blocks of life. Our bodies are made of earth, air, water,
and fire. Evidence of these practices has been carried on in most
world religions, but sadly, any deep understanding of their relevancy
has been widely misunderstood or lost in centuries of doctrine
and dogma. Breaking the death habit has fallen out of mainstream
popularity, but it is now making a come back.
Leonard says, "Put simply, the cause of death is really pollution
in the body; physical pollution with food and toxins, and energy
pollution" -energy pollution is caused by personal negative thinking,
and toxic, negative environments, people, and traumas.
Leonard's fascination and study of the energy body has greatly
interested me. It makes sense that if the body is really just
energy -consciousness, and the source of physical disturbances
and dis-ease is toxicity, then having a clear, clean, loving,
life-affirming energy body must be required to have un-ending
physical health and physical mastery.
Leonard's system for keeping the energy body clean is simple and
relaxing to do. For the sake of the length of this essay, I won't
go into details here, but it is easy to learn these practices
from any of Leonard's books or trainings.
So who are these Immortal Yogis? Leonard points out that the most
popular one is Jesus, but he was not the only person in the bible
to transcend death. Enoch, Melchizedek, Moses, and Elijah are
all heroes in the Bible because they were Physically Immortal.
They did not leave this world through death. "They conquered death
and evolved to the point where they could dematerialize and rematerialize
their bodies. There is a way to get out of this universe alive."
(p17)
Other famous Immortals are Saint Germain of France, and Analee
Skarin of the U.S. who ascended in the 1960's, Babaji of Herakhan,
and countless other Indian Yogis and Yoginis. Their stories are
easily accessible to anyone; in Holy Scriptures of every religion
you will find Immortal Masters.
Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi is a beautiful book of his
first hand accounts of them. Yogananda himself didn't die, but
entered into 'Samahdi' - conscious exit from his body. Twenty
days after his exit, his body showed no signs of decay. In the
Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East you can read
a first hand account of a team of scientists, led by Baird T.
Spaulding, who lived and learned from many Immortal Masters for
several years. Originally, they went to India to prove that Immortal
Yogis did not exist.
In conclusion, I hope this essay has introduced some new light
on the topic of Death and Dying. It is obvious to me that the
essence of who we are, call it our energy bodies or our souls,
never perish. Personally, I have no fear of dying. I am who I
am, where ever my Spirit goes, and I know the Omnipresence and
Love of God. I know that Love can be experienced right here on
earth, that we indeed are here to embody Heaven on Earth. I'd
like to end with a few more of my favorite quotes on Physical
Immortality:
"All there is in heaven or on Earth is energy, thought, and form.
Your full divine potential exists in the here and now, just as
much as it exists in the highest heaven. God is here too! There
is no better place to be." ~Leonard Orr
"All the Immortals I have met are having a great time...Personal
aliveness is the source of joy forever." ~Leonard Orr
"Death is the dreary, back-door entrance into the other world?
But there is a great front door of glory for those who overcome."
~Annalee Skarin

TODAY IS THE PERFECT TIME. RIGHT NOW IS THE MOMENT OF POWER!
Science of Mind 3/18/08
The following is a letter I recently wrote to a friend, but Id
like to open it up to everyone. In the early rebirthing days,
we saw it as a moral obligation to talk about the death urge
and the possibility of physical immortality. Since the mind draws
its energy from the breath, as people learn to breathe more fully
and freely, their thoughts become more powerful and creative.
And so it is important that we weed out any negative and limiting
thoughts from our consciousness. The belief that we have no choice
about death is a big one
Dear Paul,
I have been reflecting on the feeling that you are not so interested
in being on the planet or in your body much longer... But I value
your contribution to the world, and I so enjoy your energy and
your communications... And so of course, I'd like it if you were
to decide to hang around forever! So, what do you say?
If we create our reality with our thoughts, then perhaps that
explains the phenomenon of aging and the cause of death. The power
of intention applies to everything in existence. Who would dare
question the idea that death is inevitable? We should! Like a
program, this belief is downloaded directly into our psycheinto
our creative mindbefore we ever have the possibility of conceiving
of anything else. And the thought is reinforced and supported
by every culture, society, religion, and family. That "we all
must die" is perhaps the most widely held negative and limiting
thought on the planet.
But instead of changing the thought or dropping the belief, we
downplay the value of this life and imagine a higher plane. We
tell ourselves and each other soothing stories of a lovely afterlife
to make death more palatableto make the belief in death easier
to live with. But maybe it's our stubborn loyalty to death that
is killing us. I am reminded of people who have a deep need or
desire for love or touch or success or whatever... but they also
have the thought or belief that they could never achieve it, and
so they convince themselves that they never really wanted or needed
it in the first place. If we get old and stiff, or if we are in
pain or unhappy, then death begins to look quite attractive! We
create our suffering and then we invent death to escape it. We
see death as liberation. We look forward to it. We bring it on.
I remember a British play from the late 70's, called the "Immortalist.
It was a very witty two person playan interview with a 287 year
old man. Neil Cunningham, the actor who passionately played the
main character every night for six months, grew his hair back
and spontaneously healed himself of several diseases: he actually
grew younger!
One of the lines in the play went something like this: "Have you
noticed that DNA is immortal at our expense? We come and go, but
it keeps on living. Maybe DNA is a spiral that's out to screw
us! Maybe we should scream at it every morning: 'I'm not going
to take it any more! Maybe if enough of us do that, or if we
all threaten to kick the bucket at the same time, it will begin
to let us in on some of its secrets!"
Is the possibility of biological immortalityphysical immortalityso
far fetched? Can the end result of millions of years of evolution
really be just a bunch of earth-bound spivs who barely manage
to make it 70 or 80 years before turning into dust? Can that really
be the universe's plan for us? Spirit is eternal. Consciousness
is eternal. The physical universe as matter and energy is eternal.
And so why wouldn't a body that is filled with conscious spirit
not naturally live forever? Maybe we can include the physical
body in the eternal life of the spirit... What if all death is
suicide?
Reincarnation seems to be a popular option. But if we are going
to come back anyway
then why not just stay here to begin with?
Why leave? Shouldn't we have a right to our physical body as long
as the physical universe exists? If humans are so smart, how come
a number of other species, lower on the evolutionary scale than
us, live much longer than we do? How come dirt lasts longer than
most humansif humans are so smart!
What if death is simply the effect of mass hypnosis? What if buying
into the idea that we have no power over death is just a form
of laziness? What if dying is the ultimate in mindless conformity?
What if the "belief" in death and the "reality" of death is the
prime example of a self-fulfilling prophecy? What if by buying
into the common belief about death, we are just defaulting to
fear or ignorance or conditioning?
What if what we are talking about is a changeable genetic program?
What if death is just a bad habit! Actually, one of my friends
Leonard Orr's latest books is called "Breaking the Death Habit.
(He also coined the term "youthing. What a great alternative
to aging!)
Many people believe in eternal life, but they don't mean actual
physical lifelife as we know it, life as we live it. Most people
believe that physical immortality is a silly dream. And yet those
same people can believe in a pie-in-the-sky-by-and-by? If we can't
find or reach our ultimate potential right here right now in this
physical body, what makes us think that we'll find it or reach
it in some after life? How can destroying our physical body possibly
help us one bit? Annalee Skarin called death "the dreary back
door" to the kingdom of heaven. Many people believe that we are
now in the end times, and St. Paul called death the final enemy.
Christians are taught that the wages of sin is death. To sin
is to make a mistake. And all mistakes are mistakes in thinking.
Maybe death is a grave mistake! And theres news that the value
of death has fallen. Last report: under six feet! It just occurred
to me, we say that the body has wisdom. But how many of us have
asked our body how it feels about our attitude toward death? How
many of us have checked in with it to see what it thinks about
our plan to simply use it as a stepping stone, a door mat, merely
a means to an end. How do you think it feels about your plan to
live in it for a while, beat it up, wear it out, and then just
dump it and move on to greener pastures? Maybe the physical pain
of aging is the body's way of saying "poor me" to itself. Maybe
physical illnesses and diseases are the body's way of saying "fuck
you" to us!
But dont blame yourself. How many of us have been allowed to
question the inherited thoughts about death? And how many of us
have been encouraged to go for any other possibility? None of
our spiritual teachers, parents, grand parents, role models, or
gurus has chosen physical immortality for themselves. (Maybe they
weren't enlightened to it or maybe they weren't ready for it.)
Basically, we have simply not been invited, encouraged, or inspired
to walk this path.
But what if physical immortality is our birthright? What if it
represents the ultimate in human potential? And, what if there
are humans on this planet whove been alive for hundreds or thousands
of years? You say that if that were the case, wed know about
them by now? But would these living examples of the possible
human bother to make themselves known to us if we are not at
all open or even slightly interested in the possibility? Maybe
as we raise our vibrations and expand our consciousness, they'll
begin to appear out of the woodwork to help us!
I'd like to share that I've been consciously breathing the idea
of "increasing aliveness" for over 30 years now, and considering
my physical "age," my energy level, and my current state of health,
it seems obvious that the body is quite willing to reflect our
thoughts and beliefs; in fact it has no choice but to express
the being that inhabits it.
You've said that not many people are ready for some of your ideas,
and perhaps even fewer are ready for this one! But still, I would
like to put it out to the community and to hear your thoughts
and feelings on the matter.
Love,
Dan
