This is the mantra that all who go to be with Ammachi repeat as japa.
Questions and Answers
Amma answers questions.
The following is an interview with Amma published in the Times of India. The interview took place
during Mother's visit to New Delhi in March 1999.
*QUESTION: Amma has founded AIMS, the super-specialty hospital, and the Amrita Kuteeram free housing
project, and many other service projects for the poor. What motivated Amma to start those service
activities?"
Amma: Amma sees many poor people every day. They tell her about their suffering. Thus Amma has come
to understand their hardships and their needs. A strong urge to alleviate their suffering is felt
within. That is how each project begins. None of the projects were planned before they were started;
nor had any funds been gathered. As we beging each project, God sends us everything we need. We should
understand that God is n ot confined to the temple or church. God is within each one of us. Whenever we
share what we have with others and help one another, we are, in fact, worshipping the Supreme Truth.
*QUESTION: How can we be released from suffering?
Amma: Those who truly absorb spirituality and live according to dharma (righteous actions) do not
experience sorrow. What is the use if we just cry when we get injured? We have to apply a salve to
the wound. By merely crying the wound could become infected and may even cause death.
Suppose someone verbally abuses us and we react by sitting in a corner and crying. We are unhappy
because we accepted the abuse. If we don't accept it, it becomes that person's problem, not ours.
So we have to disown it. If we act with discriminiation in this way, we will attain freedom from
suffering. Spiritual knowledge is far more essential in life than worldly knowledge, for it teaches
us how to live in this world.
QUESTION: Can we change destiny through our own effort?
Amma: If we perform our actions as an offering to the Supreme Truth (or God), we can transcend destiny.
We must avoid laziness at all costs, and do our best without blaming destiny. A person who refuses to make
any effort in life and then blames fate is simply lazy.
QUESTION: Millions of men and women believe in you very strongly and find shelter in you. What does Amma
believe in? What does Amma depend on?
Amma: Amma believes in everything. To me, there is no God somewhere above the sky. To me, all of you, are
my God. To serve and love everyone - this is my aim in life. The sun does not need the light of a candle.
God doesn't want anything from us. We are meant to use God's light to get rid of the darkness in the world
- this is the principle. Not that there is no God; it's just that this consciousness is present everywhere.
It is a question of how we perceive it.
Its not our differences that divide us; its our inability to accept and celebrate those differences.
We had an awesome gathering for World Peace this month. The ideas we shared seemed to flow like stream of consciousness
for many of us. Here are some of the thoughts that came forth.
Everything I see/feel is Consciousness and its not all mine!, I recognize my part in Group Consciousness
I see
that my part is manageable and heal-able
I experience fear and what looks like lack
.I want to let go of desire to
Control
I want to Surrender and have Faith
EMPTINESS (from one who had just completed a Conscious Energy Breath session),
I accept and open to the VOID
it is filled with Loving Light
I recognize I CAN
I am self empowered
my Desire is to
detach
to have faith with Loving Light
I am Grateful
CREATION comes from the VOID of all possibilities
therefore I
Choose Compassionate Detachment
I AM and I Am One
.yet Diverse
.In our diversity, We Are All One: I love you
Sovereignity
must be acknowledged before we can Unify as ONE
We are One
We are lovable
We are Loved
.which settled us on the following
as our Intent for this months World Peace Breath Meditation: WE ARE ONE. WE ARE LOVE.
Please join us the first Sunday of each month. We gather at 3 pm rocky mountain time, we take time to share, and breathe

"The problems in the world today cannot be solved with the level of thinking that created them."
-- Albert Einstein
Only you can deny your own desire.
The Universe Vibrationally Matches Your Observations
We're wanting to give you some formulas and processes to assist you in your deliberate creating.
We notice that you are utilizing the contrast of your time and place well, because very often from
the dramatic -- sometimes very dramatic, sometimes less dramatic--contrasting experiences, you are
coming to quicker awarenesses of what it is you are wanting. We feel that eruption of desire --
(a good word, "decision") coming forth within you. But then, often, even though the decision has
come forth and the decision is loud and clear and you could speak it in words that anyone would
understand, very often you are not vibrating anywhere near your own decision.
Now, the formula for Deliberate Creation, in very simple terms, says, "I will identify that which
I am wanting," which means make a decision, "and then I will achieve vibrational harmony with my
own decision." Now, what we mean by that is that in every moment that you are awake or conscious,
you are literally radiating a signal, not so different from a radio signal, and the Universe accepts
that signal as your point of attraction. Every moment that you are conscious or awake, you are literally
pulsing an electronic vibration, and the entire Universe is accepting that electronic vibration as your
point of attraction and is matching it with other things that are like it. What we've noticed is that,
often, even though you are saying, "I want more money," your signal is not in vibrational harmony with
that. So your words are empty and hollow while your signal is actually often in direct opposition to
the very thing you are saying you are wanting.
Every moment
you are pulsing
a vibration,
and the entire Universe
is accepting that
as your point of attraction
and is matching it.
Over the next few days, we would like you to hold in your mind a phrase, "Vibrational Match." It's an
easier way of talking about Law of Attraction. In other words, that which is like unto itself is drawn."
So when I vibrationally match the vibration of my own desire, then there is no contradiction. There is no
resistance. The Energy is pure. And when that happens, the Universe must deliver to me that which is in
vibrational harmony with my desire, my decision and my point of attraction.
Most people don't make it through a whole sentence without contradicting their desire. They will say,
"Abraham, I want more money. I am so tired of the struggle." For example, when you say, "I want a new
red car," the Universe responds to the vibration of your desire. But then when you say, "But it is too
expensive," the Universe responds to that vibration too. So now you have the Universe responding to two
contradictory vibrations, so nothing changes for you.
The other phrase that we want you to hold in your mind for a few days is the phrase "purify my vibration."
And what we mean by that is simply getting your vibration all going in one direction. Once you've identified
what you want, then your work is to offer a vibration that matches that -- and you can tell by the way you feel
whether you are matching that vibration or whether you are not. When you say, "I want a new red car because mine
is a junker and won't run," can you feel the contradiction in the vibrations? What you are focused upon is not in
vibrational harmony with that which you want. Or you say, "Oh, it is too expensive." Or, "Oh, I don't know what
I'm going to do." Or, "Oh, I am so unhappy..." In other words, even though you are using the word "want," your
vibration is not in harmony with want. Your vibration is in harmony with lack, with need, with not having what
you want. As you do that, you sometimes, if you are paying attention to the way you feel, can feel
the disharmony in the vibration. So then, you can soften that by saying things such as "Well, I don't know how
it's going to come but I believe it will." That's a little bit better match. Or, "I see a lot of people with
beautiful new cars and many of them are in the same situation that I am and so I know there must be a way."
That's a better match. You can tell by the way you feel, what you're doing with your vibrational alignment.
Once you've identified
what you want,
then your work is to offer
a vibration
that matches that --
and you can tell
by the way you feel
whether you are matching that vibration or not.
It is our wanting to assist you in recognizing where it is that you are vibrating, because in every moment,
everything that is coming to you is coming in response to your vibrational output -- every single thing.
The reason that most people do not do a very consistent job of matching the vibration of their own desire is
because most people are such dogged observers. We have a very strong statement that we want to make here --
two or three of them, in fact -- just to get you sort of oriented in the direction of wanting to match your
vibration. The most important thing that we will say to you is that no one, nothing, can deny you your desire.
Only you can deny your own desire through contradictory vibration. In other words, no one has ever kept you from
anything. Nobody's keeping you from being rich and famous. Nobody's keeping you from being well. No one but you.
And the reason that you do it is because you observe things that cause you to offer a vibrational outpouring that
doesn't match the vibration of your own desire.
One who is predominantly an observer, which includes most humans, thrives in good times but suffers in bad times,
because what you observe is reflected in your vibration. The Universe accepts that vibration as your point of
attraction and then matches it with other things like it, and then you have more to observe which causes you to
offer more of a vibrational offering which the Universe accepts as your point of attraction and gives you more
like it. So the good gets gooder and the bad gets badder. But when you have learned to visualize... a visionary
thrives in all times -- because a visionary is one who learns to flow Energy because of decision, not because of
what is.
Before we leave this gathering tomorrow, it is our absolute promise to you that, if it is your wanting, you will
know without question how to flow Energy in vibrational harmony with your own desire. Then it will take you two
to three weeks to practice it and get so that you can really feel that you are directing the Energy. And we say
to you, when you do that, you are then the Deliberate Creator that you have come forth to be.
The most important thing
that we will say to you
is that no one, nothing,
can deny you your desire.
Only you
can deny your own desire
through
contradictory vibration.
In other words,
no one has ever kept you
from anything
You said, "I will go forth into this contrasting experience, because out of contrast always erupts decision --
and decision is necessary before any Deliberate Creating can begin." Can't you feel the power in decision? Have
you ever lived something that you didn't like? Something about it was wrong. Maybe a little wrong. Maybe a lot
wrong. Have you ever reached the place where you said, Esther's favorite line from a movie, "I'm mad as hell,
and I'm not going to take it any more!" Do you ever get to that place where you just cannot stand what is happening.
It's just not right... That's a very powerful place to be. It won't get you what you want, but it's the beginning
of the process, because when you reach that place, always within that contrasting experience erupts clarity of what
you want. And so, then you say "I don't want that. What I do want is this. I don't want that. What I do want is this."
And even though your words, or our words here, sound negative, it is the
beginning of Deliberate Creating.
However, now this is the part we want you to hear, because this is the part that begins to go wrong for almost
everyone. In that place of decision, you know what you want, you are still in a very contradicted Energy position
because your statement of desire is coming out of the keen awareness of what you do not want. So you are not in a
place of purely attracting what you want. You are in the beginning of your creation. Now your work begins and it
usually takes two to three weeks. Now that you know what you want. Your work is to find thought and words and
actions -- most of all the feeling place -- that matches the decision that you have just made.
What you are getting
always matches
what you are vibrating
and what you are vibrating always matches
what you are getting,
without exception.
They are always the same.
So here is the cycle that we see most of you -- once you really get the hang of this -- living: You live some contrast.
You know what you don't want. You reach that place of shouting "No" at it. Out of the "No," erupts clarity of what "Yes"
is. You feel your strong decision. You're still very contradicted in your Energy. Then you spend two to three weeks
getting the Energy lined up. When it lines up, you feel it. You can feel it click into place. It feels like relief.
And when the Energy lines up, then almost instantly there is physical evidence of the alignment. And at the same moment,
you are now standing in a new perspective with a new set of contrasting elements in your experience. Then the process
begins again. In this now different level of achieving and wanting, you now are examining contrast again, and again you
are saying "No" to some things which bring you to the conclusion of "Yes." And again your Energy is contradicted, and
again now you must find the
vibrational alignment.
The thing that we most want you to know is that in every moment, you can feel whether you are matching or mismatching.
Now we want to talk about that a little bit. When Esther was a little girl, she played a card game with her sister.
They called it "Memory". They would lay a deck of cards face down all over the table, and when it was your turn, you
turned over two cards looking for two that matched. That's the thing we're wanting you to hold in your mind. You're
looking for Vibrational Matches -- and you can tell by the way you feel when you've achieved that Vibrational Match.
But the thing we are wanting you to get a sense of is that what you are getting always matches what you are vibrating
and what you are vibrating always matches what you are getting, without exception. They are always the same.
Now sometimes, as we watch our physical friends, we see you, especially once you begin this Deliberate Creating Process,
we see you feeling guarded and tentative in your offering, afraid that you might miscreate, afraid that you might get a
manifestation that does not please you. And what we want to say to you, in a way that you can hear it, is that that is
what physical manifestation is for. It helps you in the learning of the flowing of the Energy.
It is true. What you're vibrating is what you're getting. It's also true, what you're getting is what you're vibrating.
So if you have something in your experience that feels a little out of whack, no problem. Just offer your thought in a
little bit more consistent vibration.
When Esther makes candy, her recipe book says, put these ingredients in the pot and cook it on your stove and it doesn't
say for how many minutes because the recipe book doesn't know how hot her fire is or how well her pan conducts the heat.
Instead, her recipe book says, cook this substance to a soft ball or to a medium ball or to a hard ball. So as Esther is
cooking this mixture, frequently she takes a little spoon full of the boiling candy and she dribbles it into a clear glass
of cold water. If it is nowhere near ready, it just dissipates into the water. It makes the water cloudy. If it is getting
closer to be ready, it forms a little clump in the bottom and as Esther pinches it, she can feel if it's soft or if it's
medium or if it's firm. She can tell by doing and testing when it is right where she wants it. And that's the way we want
you to use your physical manifestation. Don't stand guarded and afraid that you might make a mistake. Instead, just keep
saying "What
I'm getting is what I'm vibrating. Hum. What I'm getting isn't pleasing me in every way. I think I could use a little more
visualization and a little less observation.
The Universe does not know
if your vibrational offering is because of
what you are observing or visualizing.
In either case, the Universe is matching it
with things like it.
So your work is to deliberately offer
thought vibrations that are
a Vibrational Match
to what you want.
Here is a very powerful line: The key for most of you will be to goose up your visualization and play down your observation.
As far as your observation goes, we would like you to become very good selective sifters, because there's so much
that you can observe that does match your own desire. But most people are not looking for those things, purposefully,
because you have not known the power of thought. Sometimes you're careful about what you say or sometimes you're careful
about what you do -- but few of you are really deliberate about what you think. You sort of offer your thoughts as if
they don't matter, and then you watch your words as if your words do matter. And what we want you to hear from us is
that what matters is what you are radiating which means what matters is what you are feeling. If you're feeling fearful
about something, you are sending contradictory Energy.
If you're feeling angry about something, you're sending contradictory Energy. It is really as simple as that.

Always act as if there is an impeccable purpose to everything you do. Act as if your highest good and your
highest opportunity involve working through every event you are involved in. Always act that way. If you are
walking down the street and someone says, I've got a gun in your back; let's have your purse, act as if you
are being given an opportunity for your highest growth.
You never know what the results are going to be if you begin to act this way.... This is an attitude. If
you all could have this attitude and act as if every event is designed to propel you further in your growth
and awareness, then you might turn around and find that the person holding the gun in your back is a
counterpart or portion of yourself. You might be able to heal something; you might be given an opportunity
to do something you are afraid of.
Do not be afraid of what you create. TRUST WHAT YOU CREATE. Trust that there is always something in it for
you... Sometimes the greatest enlightenment lies in the greatest catastrophes and the greatest difficulties.

FROM Dr. Marias newsletter
http://rx4bliss.com/ezine.htm
Whatever kind of body we have, it is our vehicle for realizing inner light. Our bodies are the
matter in which the light of our soul temporarily resides. It is common to imagine that the soul
resides somewhere deep within this mass of matter, and will be liberated when our bodies die. Yet
our bodies are vehicles for not only growth and development, but also the realization and expression
of ourselves as soul.
The workings of our bodies reflect the qualities of soul- fluidity, light, and inter-connectedness.
We can see this even on the cellular level. Each of us is composed of 75 trillion cells. Each cell
is filled with fluid and surrounded by a permeable, pulsating membrane that intelligently decides
what can enter the cell and what will be kept out. Each cell is also surrounded by fluid, with
which it is constantly communicating. The cell breathes through electrochemical transfers, taking
in nutrients and sending away by-products.
The light of our souls is very much like the light of our cells. Our inner light resides in our
hearts, protected by the permeable membrane of our bodies. We constantly decide what we will allow
into our hearts and what we will keep out. We are surrounded by a fluid field of light in which
we can communicate and exchange with others.
It is common among us to ignore our bodies' inborn intelligence and usefulness. We might even see
our bodies as dirty or gross, alien to the development of our souls. We might tacitly regard our
bodies as an extension of our heads. We might regard them as a machine that will inevitably break
down. Yet appreciating our bodies -- living in them fully and listening to their messages -- is our
greatest opportunity for realizing the light within.
Appreciating the Body
What is your attitude toward your body? Can you accept the way it looks at this very moment? Think
about the messages your body gives you. How do you respond to them? When your body tells you it is
hungry, do you take time to feed it properly, or do you simply toss fast food down? When your body
tells you it is tired, what is your response? Do you take the time to rest, or do you drink coffee
to temporarily erase the message?
When you feel pain, how do you respond? Are you curious about the pain? Do you explore it? Or do
you try to avoid it by numbing it as soon as possible?
Do you regard your body as a machine? Or can you see it as a world of its own, a wealth of sensual
experience there for you to explore? What parts of your body are you particularly proud of? What
parts are you ashamed of? What bodily experiences do you want to share with others? Which ones
embarrass you? Why?
Being willing to accept and listen to our bodies with all their sensations, impulses, and mysteries
requires abandoning the materialistic and mechanistic approach. When we are fully present in our bodies,
we become aware that our emotions, opinions, and experience take place in our whole being -- not just in
our heads. We see that mind and body are intricately connected, and we may also begin to see the
connection between the depth of bodily experience and our inner light.
Following is an exercise to do as you begin cultivating awareness and appreciation of your body. As
you become aware of your body and begin to appreciate it, you may find yourself spending more and more
time genuinely participating in what your body does. Genuinely participating in your bodily experience
is a universally available way to dwell in the present moment, any time we like. And the present moment
is where inner light is available.
Choose a part of your body to focus on. How does it feel? How does it look? What is your attitude toward
it? Do you regard it as part of you, or do you feel some distance from it? Do you feel that you are an
observer, looking at an object from a distance? Now move your consciousness into that part of your body.
What do you feel now? Take a deep breath and visualize this part of your body as the seat of all your
senses -- sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Imagine that it is the very center of your being.
With a deep breath, breathe translucent golden light into that part of your body.
Try this exercise every day for a week, choosing a different part of your body to appreciate each day.
For example, start out by focusing on your head, and work your way down.

Jane Adams quotes experts in childhood development, mothers and religious mentors that
offer practical down-to-earth suggestions on "How to Raise a Compassionate Child." Under
headings of Promote sweetness, Enforce rules, Guide friendship, Encourage helping, and
Build on their smarts, Adams encourages parents, teachers and caregivers to build and
nurture this quality in children. To promote sweetness by being gentle Kimberly Mazone
of Dresden, Maine, mother of 4-year-old Sienna and 3-month-old Lucca says, "I say we use
our hands to give love. You're being a little bit rough. Let's be gentle. Let's show our
love with our hands." This is when an older child is being rough with a baby.
When it comes to enforcing rules Janice Cohn, Ph.D., author of "Raising Compassionate,
Courageous Children in a Violent World" says, "Make unacceptable behavior, like hitting,
always unacceptable even if it's her birthday. If something is wrong it has to be wrong
all the time." A parent can guide the spirit of friendship by saying positive and helpful
things about friends and relatives. "Kids, as we know, are always listening. How we talk
on a daily basis about our own siblings, parents and relatives tells them a lot.If children
hear us saying something really negative about Grandma, they learn that it's OK to talk that
way," says Suzanne Coyle, Ph.D., a mom and director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program
at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.
Nancy Manewith, director of the Board of Jewish Education Early Childhood Centers of Metropolitan
Chicago, Illinois says that children in their congregation are encouraged to help by bringing in
pennies and counting them and then giving them to charity or to buy mittens and scarves for poor
children, which opens the door to conversations about war and poverty. Reverend Gatta, who's also
a mom of a 12-year-old, says she builds on her children's smarts by exploring their feelings. For
example, Reverend Gatta says, "Talking about book characters is a good way to help. We'd read Snow
White and I'd ask why do you think the witch was jealous of Snow White?"
Adams sums up her perspective on the subject, "Children have an inborn capacity for compassion.
Small in stature themselves, they naturally identify with stuffed animals, other kids, pets, and
underdogs. The tricky part is that their empathy must compete with other developmental forces,
including limited impulse control -- which makes them pull the cat's tail -- and their belief that
their needs absolutely must come first -- which makes it hard for them to let their cousin push
the cool fire truck."
This article parallels one from two issues ago Enlightened Meditation by Atisha
The Buddhist doctrine of Boddhisatva - the All Compassionate Beings - who, once
enlightened rather than disappear into a Nirvanic state, remain within this dimension
of duality and delusion in order that they may share their light - their wisdom heart
stream - with all suffering beings. Until all beings are lifted up and the world of
delusion can finally be transformed into a world of Bliss. Some of these beings we may
have heard of or encountered in meditation - Avalokasavara and Tara come immediately to mind.
But it is the practice of Boddhisatva heart/mind which I feel is the most important
aspect to learn, supremely difficult and yet subtly easy at the same time! To begin
this practice, one centers oneself in meditation. Then, on the in-breath, you breath
in all of the suffering, pain, anger, fear and so forth of the beings around you. Take
it in. Sacrifice yourself, in a sense offering your being, to this overwhelming grief.
Then, on the out-breath, breath out the pure light of compassion and love to all beings,
to the world.
The practice is hard for the Ego - and so one is instructed to begin with visualizing
beings that are immediately around you, your loved ones, your family. Eventually, expand
this out to include friends, then acquaintances, then strangers. Finally, begin to expand
to include those folks you don't like, your enemies and so on. Everyone. All sentient beings
who suffer.
What I like about this meditation is that it centers you in the understanding not only that
All Is One, but also that we each share a responsibility to act in behalf of those around us
who may be unable to recognize the delusions of the ego mind, lost in the dream of Maya. Our
light is their light. Our heart is their heart. Our bliss is their bliss.
The greatest help or service you can do to the world is the imparting of knowledge of the Self.
Spiritual help is the highest help you can render to mankind. The root cause of human sufferings
is ignorance. If you can remove this ignorance in man, then only can he be eternally happy. That
sage who tries to remove the ignorance is the highest benefactor in the world.

Leonard Orr, Father of the Rebirthing Movement, says of this book: It is a fantastically powerful book.
All Rebirthers should own a copy.
Without a Divine Mother there is no Life. She is First Mover, She is First Cause and Effect.
Without Her Intent for Creation, no Creation is feasible. She is the Womb of Creation. She is the
Originator, the Activator, the Place of Gestation, the Trusting Parent who releases us into the
Celebration of Life. Thru Her all things are possible and all possibilities exist.
This book is a primer for healing the sum of ourselves. It offers that healing our bodies,
emotional mind, spirit, will, heart into wholeness and Union with the One God is the Grace that
Mother God--The Mother of Everything offers to us.
This book is for those interested in the following:
The Feminine Divine, Womans Studies, Body-Mind-Spirit-Will-Heart, Emotional Healing, Alternative
Healing, Alternative Spirituality, Creation Centered Spirituality, Emotional Release, Rebirthing,
