"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."

The 5th Annual WORLD SOUND HEALING DAY
FEB. 14, 2007
"The Sound Heard Around the World"

Sounding an "AH" for planetary peace!

WHAT: World Sound Healing Day-The Sound Heard Around the World. For five minutes, sound healers, meditators, peace activists and lovers of all humanity and sentient consciousness will send a Sonic Valentine to the Earth with the heartsound “AH” filled with the intention of Peace and Love!

WHEN: February 14, 2007, join thousands of people throughout the planet as they tone an "AH" together for five minutes during that day, projecting the energy of Light & Love throughout the Planet. We have found that creating a Global Sacred Sound any time within a 24 hour period on the planet will create a coherent waveform that will affect the entire Earth. Therefore, any time you feel guided to sound for Planetary Peace on February 14th is a good time! You will actually experience generating a field of transformational energy as this occurs. In addition, local toning groups will be occurring throughout the Earth at various times during that day with the intention of assisting planetary consciousness through sound.

WHY: To project peace throughout the planet. What better way to celebrate this joyous day of Valentine’s Day then to project Peace to Mother Earth and generate peaceful energy throughout the planet with sound! Sound coupled with intention has the ability to heal and transform. We will sound an “AH” sending a “Wave” of Sound that will resonate throughout the planet. Now is the time for you to be part of the Celestial Choir and resonate together for World Sound Healing Day. We can create major positive shifts on our beloved planet. Through sounding together we will make a difference.

HOW: Sound the heart sound “AH” for 5 minutes We will simply sound an “AH” filled with the intention of Peace and Love for 5 minutes at a time that is convenient for you. The “AH” is a universal, non-denominational heart sound that when projected with focused energy is extremely powerful and effective.

AND: Pass this message on. If it’s appropriate, forward this announcement about this event to your mailing list. Tell your friends and loved ones to join our Celestial Choir and help bring peace to the planet. There will be sound healing events throughout the world. Previous World Sound Healing Days were extraordinarily successful. We truly made a difference to the planet with our Sound, our Light and Our Love.

Last year's World Sound Healing Day was a tremendous success, creating powerful positive vibrational shifts for the planet. Please join us again in the co-creation of this event, projecting Light and Love through Sound and help make a difference!

UNCOVER YOUR TRUE FACE
Daily Om ~ January 15, 2007

Underneath the Mask
Many of us know the feeling of being stuck in a particular role within our families, as if we are wearing masks whenever we see the people we love. Maybe we are the good daughters, expected to always please others, or perhaps we are the family clowns, expected to be jovial and make everyone laugh. This same scenario can play out within a work situation or a group of friends. We may be so good at our role that we hardly even notice that we are wearing a mask, and yet, deep down, we know that we are not free to simply be who we really are. This can leave us feeling unseen and uneasy.

There is nothing inherently wrong with wearing a mask or playing a role. It is a natural part of any social dynamic and it can even be creative and fun. It only becomes a problem when you feel that you have no other choice than to wear that mask, and this is especially challenging if you realize you are never without one. Perhaps you have forgotten who you really are—a vast and unrestricted being of light—and have identified yourself completely with a role. You may be the dutiful, caring son who keeps his parents’ dysfunctional marriage intact. You may be the angelic wife who enables your husband to continue on a destructive path. You may be the cheerful daughter to a deeply depressed mother. Whatever the case, knowing the motivation behind your performance—the function of your mask—can help to uncover your true face.

Anytime we find ourselves stuck behind a mask, it is an indication that we are entangled in a dysfunctional dynamic in which our true self cannot be seen. We have been placed in this situation for the purpose of our own healing and, in some cases, the healing of others. From this perspective, life can be seen as a series of situations that call us to remove our masks—gently, and with great compassion for all concerned—to reveal the beauty underneath.

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS

“Don Miquel Ruiz suggested that we stick to only Four Agreements:

1) Be impeccable with your word

2) Don't take anything personally

3) Don't make assumptions.

4) Always do your best.

Knowing you only have those agreements to deal with, will free you up to be in a place of acceptance and love far more often!”

THE HAPPIEST MAN IN THE WORLD?
Independent.co.uk Online Edition:

... and you can learn how he does it, says academic-turned-Buddhist monk By Anthony Barnes Published: 21 January 2007

To scientists, he is the world's happiest man. His level of mind control is astonishing and the upbeat impulses in his brain are off the scale.

Now Matthieu Ricard, 60, a French academic-turned-Buddhist monk, is to share his secrets to make the world a happier place. The trick, he reckons, is to put some effort into it. In essence, happiness is a "skill" to be learned.

His advice could not be more timely as tomorrow Britain will reach what, according to a scientific formula, is the most miserable day of the year. Tattered new year resolutions, the faded buzz of Christmas, debt, a lack of motivation and the winter weather conspire to create a peak of misery and gloom.

But studies have shown that the mind can rise above it all to increase almost everyone's happiness. Mr Ricard, who is the French interpreter for Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, took part in trials to show that brain training in the form of meditation can cause an overwhelming change in levels of happiness.

MRI scans showed that he and other long-term meditators - who had completed more than 10,000 hours each - experienced a huge level of "positive emotions" in the left pre-frontal cortex of the brain, which is associated with happiness. The right-hand side, which handles negative thoughts, is suppressed.

Further studies have shown that even novices who have done only a little meditation have increased levels of happiness. But Mr Ricard's abilities were head and shoulders above the others involved in the trials.

"The mind is malleable," Mr Ricard told The Independent on Sunday yesterday. "Our life can be greatly transformed by even a minimal change in how we manage our thoughts and perceive and interpret the world. Happiness is a skill. It requires effort and time."

Mr Ricard was brought up among Paris's intellectual elite in the 1960s, but after working for a PhD in biochemsitry he abandoned his distinguished academic career to study Tibetan Buddhism in the Himalayas.

A book of philosophical conversations he conducted with his father Jean-Franηois Revel, The Monk and the Philosopher, became an unlikely publishing phenomenon when it came out in France in the late 1990s.

Mr Ricard is to publish his book Happiness for the first time in the UK next month.

DANGEROUS DOSE
2004-09-05, Boston Globe
http://www.boston.com/ae/books/articles/2004/09/05/a_dangerous_dose

Marcia Angell [is] a faculty member at the Harvard Medical School [and one of the] former editors of The New England Journal of Medicine. Her new book, "The Truth About the Drug Companies," is a sober, clear-eyed attack on the excesses of drug company power. How does the drug industry deceive us? It plies attending physicians with expense-paid junkets to St. Croix and Key West, Fla., where they are given honoraria and consulting fees to listen to promotional presentations. It promotes new or little-known diseases such as "social anxiety disorder" and "premenstrual dysphoric disorder" as a way of selling the drugs that treat them. It sets up phony front groups disguised as "patient advocacy organizations." It hires ghostwriters to produce misleading scientific articles and then pays academic physicians to sign on as authors. It sends paid lackeys and shills out onto the academic lecture circuit to ''educate" doctors about a drug's unapproved uses. It hires multinational PR firms to trumpet dubious studies as scientific breakthroughs while burying the studies that are likely to harm sales. It buys up the results of publicly funded research. It maintains a political chokehold on the American public by donating more money to political campaigns than any other industry in the country. For many years the drug industry has reaped the highest profit margins of any industry in America. In 2002, the top 10 American drug companies had profit margins of 17 percent; Pfizer, the largest, had profit margins of 26 percent. So staggeringly profitable is the drug industry that in 2002 the combined profits for the top 10 drug companies in the Fortune 500 were greater than those of all the other 490 companies combined.

From Kelley:
Isn’t it obvious that pharmaceuticals contain chemistry that is very dangerous? Chemistry is not rocket science... it is profit science with zero regard for those who use it. If it were rocket science, people would not be taking cold meds and making speed.

There is not that much difference between the pusher of heroine and the pusher of most pharmaceuticals... they are both man altered material. Thereby, (in my opinion), both are altered chemistry.

Yes, I agree that the occasional aspirin or pain reliever, etc., is brilliant, however, more than a few beers on the highway can kill. Most, if not all, over the counter medication are in the same category.

We as a population must wake up to this staggering fact ...medication / pharmaceuticals do kill--plain and simple. Nearly 250,000 people a year choose to die in hospitals... because it's morally legal,-- "not suicide".

Yet, it is still suicide... it is "acceptable" suicide. According to "Christian" beliefs, suicide puts a person in hell...to burn forever? Sweet Jesus... what a guilt trip.

Meanwhile, the population, who are slaves to the pharmaceutical corporations, continue to take prescription drugs and are told to take three more to counter the first and then are being told to take more. All the while, the insurance companies rake in the premiums...Obviously you and I are in the wrong game. Except that you and I would not stoop that low... And of course we have no way to wake others up...all we can do is continue on the journey of waking ourselves.

Please pass this on and ask that others pass this on...maybe we could in fact wake up one more person to the opportunity of actually being on a path of wake up.

………………. One way to wake up and stop taking pharmaceuticals is to make food your medicine.Check out Dr. Henry Bieler’s book “Food Is Your Best Medicine” and be taking Dr. Schulze‘s herbal remedies from American Botanical Pharmacy 1-800-437-2362.

From Toni and Kelley:
Dear Beloveds,
Agnihotra is an incredibly simple, powerful and auspicious ceremony that creates a measurable effect on the energy and mind of not just one but all Mind Energy within a several mile diameter around the place of performance. Agnihotra turned off the Geiger counters at Chernoble after the melt down. This gift of Agnihotra purifies and changes consciousness. Check it out.
